It depends how you use email, and I can see that googlemail is good if you need to keep business records and want to store a lot of stuff. For my business I produce water-coloured visuals and hand-drawn plans, and I rarely email clients. I like good quality paper and wouldn't want to produce kitchen designs on a computer programme. I don't keep any 'sent' mail even for a minute (don't want to read my own rubbish again) and I also delete nearly all 'received' mail after a couple of days, if not immediately. Therefore actively trying to delete both 'sent' and 'received' gmail, only to find that it was being held somewhere else, was a pain, and the search facility was of no use to me. True, not many people are stuck on dial-up as I am for the time-being (moving soon) but even so O.E opens in seconds but gmail takes two whole minutes. Frustrating when I'd just closed it then remembered something! Also, as a visual person I found the page boring to look at. I'm new to downloading stuff so it's good to try these things. I've now downloaded Mozilla Thunderbird and like it. Does anyone know how you set the typeface and size to 'default'? |
