Thanks for replies to that. It's as I thought. Actually I rarely use email for business purposes even though I'm self-employed, and I never email companies anyway. But I may as well show a contact email address. (It's always been beckybell@islington-workshop, but surprisingly people never use email to enquire about my work). I feel Hotmail would look tacky on a card, as you have confirmed. I'm testing googlemail at present, but as I'm still on dial-up (because of iminent move) the page takes two minutes to open! Also I find the layout boring and find it tedious to actively seek to delete messages - twice - as they encourage you to keep everything and make use of the humungous storage space. Another annoyance is not being able to speedily click 'reply' to write back. (That just brings up a string of conversation that I've forgotten to delete). Most of my mail is gossip from friends and it doesn't seem right to keep it forever! I rarely read emails twice anyway, so why would I want to store tons of it? I'm sure it's useful for people who need to archive business communications. Thanks for the suggestion, Richard. I guess I'll pay for a domaine if I can easily move it around and use from cafes while travelling. Is that right? I'm not very computer literate as you will have guessed! |
