As you well know correlation does not imply causation! There could be many things that have caused the number of cars registered in Grove Park to have fallen. Couple of possibilities ... greater uptake of working from home means people might have less need for a car. Increases in charges for a 2nd permit for a car might mean that some households choose to get rid of a second vehicle. Cost of living increases might mean that households choose to get rid of their vehicle or dispense with the luxury of a second vehicle. Of course some vehicles might have been disposed of because alternative modes of transport are more attractive after the LTN was brought in, but unless you ask the people who got rid of their cars why they did so, you can't draw the conclusion that the introduction of the South Chiswick LTN was responsible for the number of cars registered in Grove Park dropping. |
