| I guess the new ‘TfL’ and other South Acton (‘home of the tower block’) residents will enjoy using all the proposed ground floor cafes, restaurants and local shops and workspaces shown in the imaginative architects’ imagery of the new development, so they won’t need to travel much further afield. They could equally swarm over the new elegant elliptical cycle and pedestrian ramp/bridge to across the railway to reach the attractions of Chiswick High Road, or they could use the exciting new rail service from nearby South Acton station to conveniently do their shopping in, er, Cricklewood or Hounslow, though I’m sure the Sainsburys and Waitrose and other delivery vans will soon find a way of getting to them. Meanwhile, the many delivery cargo bikes going to and from what’s left of the Acton Industrial Estate will have to find other routes. I guess we’ll need another elegant elliptical cycle/pedestrian ramp/bridge to get over the railway track at Acton Central if that level crossing is also going to be taken out of service. |
