According to our local authorities all diesel vehicles are bad. Ealing whacks a £50 surcharge on resident parking permits for all diesel vehicles, whether they are ulez compliant or not. A cynic might suggest that cleaning out residents rather than cleaning up air is the real motive there. Strange that there’s never the money for infrastructure investment in stations yet plenty of cash for bike lanes. The cost of those is astronomical and despotecwhat the cycle lobbyists claim there’s zero financial return for TfL from those who use them. Making stations more accessible will encourage more to use them. More fare revenue for a start. There’s also the rather thorny issue of ableism, which seems to be a prevalent mindset among certain elements of our transport planners. |
