Poor you - sometimes with friends you just have to let things go over your head - ditto with familiy members. Having not quite come through another opinion splitter - Brexit - to have to deal with this must be galling. We have loads of friends of many years standing - and of all of us we were the only remainers, in fact some of their views quite took us aback, you think you know people so well, and then find out you don't. We never backed off from our convictions that this would do irreparable damage to this country, and in the end you have to agree to disagree. Similarly this anti-vax shower and the conspiracy theorists over Covid, 9/11, JFK's assasination and on, and on. I personally think they're all certifiable and dangerous. But in the end people are entitled to their opinions no matter how distasteful and in some cases offensive, depends whether it's worth losing a friend over, either way let things cool down. Sometimes though we can take some satisfaction in being proved right, we truly believe that as we hurtle towards a no deal Brexit on top of this dreaful pandemic, a lot of people will come to regret all their championing of it, I have to say I'm not that big a person not to say - 'told you so'. Not that it will do any good........... |
