A bit tongue in cheek, but when I was a teenager we always considered any other teenager that came from the other side of the railway as from Acton. Over the years we have been using Acton high Street for our main shopping centre, It did start to decline for a while, but now the new oaks centre has opened the large shops have started to return. The High Street may not look as posh as Chiswick but it has the shops you really need, From large supermarkets to the well stocked corner shop. It takes you a while to find it but there is a lot of parking some still free, and some with two hours free time and pay after that. You will feel at home as the road is just as congested as Chiswick High Road. You never know the northern part of Chiswick may turn to Acton for there shopping needs. Then if its no your ball game you can always move up the Uxbridge road to Ealing which also has a lot of parking. |
