| This talk of closed pubs reminds me of many years ago when I was fit and able, a friend and I dressed as bright yellow daffodils walked into every pub rattling our collection box for Marie Curie all the way from The Bull westwards to the pub opposite the Royal Mail delivery office in Brentford/Isleworth. We 2, more than middle-aged old ducks, collected more that anyone else in our area that year. It was mostly chaps drinking away but they were all very jolly and generous. The walk back to Grove Park was a long one! |
