| It may have been better when it was the Dome.But it was best of all when it was The Steam Packet.Then it was a real locals pub.Max the barman had an amazing ability to remember all the locals usual drink.And on the summer months when it used to get packed 8 deep at the bar with tourists on a sunday lunchtime,Max would see you come through the door and shout "usual"A quick nod would deliver you a foaming pint before serving any of the tourists that were waving fivers in the air waiting to be served.As I said,it was a locals local.They looked after the people that used to go there all year.Not just the odd sunday lunchtime in the smmer. |
