What I never understood was why the Tories would never have Ken Clarke as their Leader - they could well have just been in with half a chance if they had, I suspect the twin set and pearls brigade found him too common for their refined tastes. I have also had personal experience of the NHS, my husband is, as I write, having an operation to remove his gallbladder, his first visit to the West Mid. was 23 November 2004, that's just over 5 months, and possibly would have been even quicker if the Consultants there learned how to use the phone or e-mails instead of insisting on writing to one another! If you wanted to be popular politics is the last thing you would choose to get involved in - you can't please all of the people all of the time. There's nothing wrong with the Leadership but I have to say some of the troops are ropey. |
