Joe I don't disagree with anything you've said and certainly agree that there will be a period of uncertainty and volatility, but where there is good, positive news let's embrace that instead of only seeing the negatives. UK Plc is made of sterner stuff with its diverse cultures and population. I'm a great believer of seeing the positives, and within the Commercial Property / Investment market there have been some very good deals done. Myself I'm just concluding terms with a French transport company to take a large space in West London on a long lease - nothing like the deals in the City but a rent roll of £575k and the landlord is British. If this deal doesn't complete I promise I will let you know - so you can all say 'I told you so it's because of Brexit'. Colleagues working for other commercial agents are also doing deals, and yes all of us have had a deal or 2 fall by the wayside as well. However, at the moment in my business area there are a significant number of requirements in West London but too little of the right stock to satisfy demand. Why not roll up our sleeves and work harder and smarter, be mindful of potential pitfalls, but above all be positive because wherever there's a 'will' invariably there's a way. Alternatively we can all weep and wail about how bad things are, say the future is bleak and Brexit is to blame for all things that go pear-shaped........ End of rant :) |
