I don't understand this: "The local residents' group WCGS, had said that the current design would disrupt the traditional scale of other Victorian detached houses. It would be incongruous..." It looks pretty incongruous as it is with higher buildings either side of it! As it's smaller than the adjacent contemporary buildings, is it sensible to complain that it would be taller than Victorian buildings elsewhere in Chiswick? I thought the plan for an extra floor was far more sensitive than yet another ugly boxy loft conversion. But what do I know when posh flats on one of London's busiest road junctions, with grand vistas down the M4 elevated section, are a planning priority. |
