Alison, I'm sorry thats simply not true. Most of these 'homes' will be unaffordable to most people, and it could be 60 storeys high and not make any difference to the overall supply situation. Its 32 storeys as the developers see an opportunity to make as much money as possible. So do you propose we simply accept every proposal put forward, because in theory your comment justifies pretty much anything. DO we actualy want a city people want to live in or an ugly and over developed mess. Do we want to lose the uniqueness of the London village landscape and our Victorian heritage? what role does population growth and migration have on the demand side (and indeed the need to balance economic growth across the UK as a whole)..., or is it easier to look at one side of the equation only? I actually have an economics qualification, so happy to discuss that further ... |
