Surface crossings would be quite feasible between Sutton Court Rd and the Hogarth Roundabout.  With lights at both ends of that stretch there are regular gaps in the traffic flow with which a pedestrian crossing could be synchronised.  It would need an adequate central refuge, though, because the gaps come at different times east and westbound.  The obvious place to put a crossing would be where the subway now is, at the bottom of Duke's Avenue, though putting it just west of Duke's Ave would be more useful for Grove Park residents as it would serve Park Road too.

Unfortunately it's not so easy to come up with a viable solution west of SCR or east of the roundabout.
