I actually look out for bikes both bicycles and motorbikes however as a driver and a pedestrian I find that alot (not all but alot of bikes) don't have the same respect for other road users. Everyday a bike nearly hits a pedestrian by the junction at the top of the fulham palace road, one minute they are bike rider the next they are on the pavement pick an option and stick to it. As a driver it really annoys me when on a 40mph road I am stuck behind two cyclists riding side by side and I am reduced to 20mph because I am unable to overtake them safely. Similarly Richmond park is 20mph as far as I aware that applies to bikes and cars however some lovely racing bikes are overtaking me (on the inside) when I'm just on the speed limit? Finally if a bike hits me and it isn't my fault I get the hit on my insurance how is that fair? I know some cyclists who do have insurance and as far as I'm concerned they are the only responsible ones on the road. As for your indicator issue that irritates drivers as well in fact I asked a girl in sainsburys petrol station if she had any because she hadn't used hers. Just so we are clear I am a BMW driver who does use her indicators even if they isn't anyone around. Plus I have a clear license and am not a old person. |
