I went to their presentation to the Bedford Park Society some time ago, I don't know if you were there Rima? They made a good case for an estuary airport, the only thing I didn't find they answered satisfactorily was my question about how they would deal with bird strikes. Incidentally I wonder if all those backing a third runway at Heathrow are happy about the findings of this report - if terorists killed that many people in London every year I wonder what the reaction would be? London air pollution is estimated to have killed nearly 9,500 people in 2010 – almost double the number previously thought – according to new research published today (July 15) by the Mayor of London. The report produced by scientists at King’s College London (KCL) marks the first time that the health and economic effects of nitrogen dioxide have been quantified, as all previous studies have focused on just particulate matter (PM2.5). http://www.airqualitynews.com/2015/07/15/london-air-pollution-kills-almost-9500-a-year-study-finds/ |
