I did my first bowel screening on turning 60 recently. I don't mind it, not being squeamish about bodily functions. My thoughts are with the poor sod who has to analyse the samples. Imagine waking up each day with nothing to look forward to but wading through someone else's s***. Incidentally, everyone you mention bowel screening to sniggers in an embarrassed way. Why are we British so childish about a normal part of life and does it explain why so many people are diagnosed with bowel cancer too late in this country?
