No they shouldn't be awarding themselves a pay rise. Yes it's a difficult job, when done properly. Politicians elsewhere may be paid better, so what? Perhaps they run more successful economies than ours. Perhaps they don't get an open chequebook for their expenses.

But there again loads of jobs are difficult and not necessarily that well paid.

Yet some of our politicians, who have private means as well as their MPs salaries and expenses, seem to think others can live on 7.50 a day!


Therefore no pay rise for politicians.
