How do you know the system was being abused? Also the Council is being preposterous in claiming they can't afford 'the subsidy' of administering the permits. The cost should be minimal. The real cost is born by the residents of the local CPZ because it is the parking spaces they pay for that are being given away. IF they don't have a problem with users of the Vihara then the benefits of giving them permits clearly outweigh the costs. Without the permits the nearest parking would be Turnham Green Terrace which would mean there would be fewer spaces for shoppers. |
