| I don't think the Qataris have built the stadia yet as the death toll of Bangladeshi construction labourers continues to mount. They are spending over $200 billion on the tournament which is more than all the preceding ones put together. This creates some powerful vested interests in them keeping it even if it goes ahead. If they do very few of the grounds will be full as it is unlikely many fans will travel. In other World Cups smaller grounds have been used for group games between teams unlikely to attract significant support and Lionel Road would be the same size as many stadia used in recent tournaments. |
