With the authorities swoop on senior executives of FIFA that particular cesspit looks as though it is about to be cleaned. The only disappointment is that Blatter wasn't among those held.

FIFA have said they would review the decisions to award World Cups to Russia and Qatar if corruption is proved. It is inevitable that some of the arrested executives will start talking to the prosecution to get reduced sentences (assuming of course they are actually guilty.)

At that point it is highly unlikely that any nation would be in a position to host the 2018 other than England and there will be a brand spanking new stadium right on our doorstep that would be perfect for some of the group matches.
