And just to set you right on another point, Victoria, this is from the Heathlands website:- Naturally we require a donation for our animals. If we did not ask for some money towards our costs we would soon have to stop rescuing. We neuter, vaccinate and microchip. Each dog we rescue averages a cost of £250 - £300. We value a good home more than financial recompense but we do feel if you cannot afford to contribute to the cost of rescuing the animal – then can you really afford the animal? When I rescued mine, I was asked if I could contribute at least £100 to cover the costs but if I hadn't been able to it was no big deal. As you can see, they say that that amount is what it costs them to rescue a dog, not what you have to pay, so please don't mislead people. |
