Clare for their inititives yes they do - as for the rescue you used they quite clearly show their adoption fees (not saying they're not doing good work by the way) as for neuturing yes they do leave there unneutured as quite a few do reasons being 1.dog too young 2. Bitch come in in season so she can't be spayed until 8 weeks after their season 3. Dog sick and on treatment or severely under weight - now all these dogs fitting this criteria we would never put into a home out of reach of the office or our vet the home these dogs go into the owner on foster until all the relevant procedures were carried out at the charity was happy with their commitment - hence Lorranine etc - Clare to be quite honest I have no idea why you are being so negative etc it's really quiet upsetting as so many know the work and commitment we provide to dog owners across the board no we do not shout and scream about it - but there are several articles in The Times etc highlighting what we do do - what you have written in here today I do hope doesn't impact on us rehoming dogs and fostering in this area as that will condemn another God knows how many dogs to a very short life to be honest - the community in Chiswick and surrounding areas have been invaluable to All Dogs Matter we have been able to increase our intake and rehoming from this end alone over 100 dogs last year went through foster into forever homes that's 100 off the put to sleep list between a very dedicated group of people who give up their time and homes to help these dogs. We can cat test at 1 pound only our kennels have a cattery where there is a resident dog savvy cat, they are taken into a room and first of all the cat is safely in a carrier the dog is allowed to sniff etc if it shows too much interest at thaf point we go no further to be honest after that the cat is placed on a higher service away from the dog and let out the dog at this point is still on the lead (just incase) cats is roaming if dog reacts no no if not then we'll drop the lead if that's all calm and no reaction then it's a yay! But this is not fool proof we have done this and a dog has gone into a home got comfy then started to chase the cats or the dogs been fine but the cats have moved out because they do not like the new dog! My own dog lives with three cats and a house rabbit and takes no notice what so ever but outside he ll chase a cat if given the chance - so no hard and fast rules for cat and dog suitability to be quiet honest. Cats can be very fickle who they want in their house! |
