Clare We are not a sticky plaster rescue and i admire the Mayhew for what they do - we do neutur vax and chip all of our dogs as soon as they're settled - the charity you got your dogs for actually imports them from Ireland and charges £250 - £300 per dog I'm assuming they do all these out reach programmes like the Mayhew too - the Mayhew recieved government money - we want breeding legislated so there are not so many unwanted dogs on our door steeps or being pts daily this is a country wide problem - are you are suggesting we stop taking dogs from death row in the pounds let them be put to sleep as we are not serving a purpose? Lorraine's dog Barney I wasn't supposed to pick up I went to collect two other dogs from the pound when I got there, there was two parsons terriers we hadnt been told about that were due to be pts the next day I had to choose which one to take (this is horrific)! I took Barney (hence him arriving in neutured un vaxed) plus I knew Lorrainne personally so knew he'd be in good hands - this is about animal welfare every day 100's of dogs are pts in the pounds because "sticky" plaster rescues like ours have no space - we run solely on donations a good will of generous people in and around London - all bar 2 of our staff are volounteers - as we'd rather the money went in saving the dogs than overheads - a good proportion of the dogs come in sick or old they need constant rescue back up and money. It's a shame some people have so much negativity towards charities trying to help this country's dump your dog mentality - because Clare the reality is if we didn't take them they'd be dead. |
