I rarely venture into central London now. There are wonderful parks and open spaces but the square mile (my old 'stomping ground') has lost all sense of proportion. I prefer my cities on a human scale. Strange that we embraced LeCorbusier's 'communities in the sky' so readily and yet he chose to live in a low-rise log cabin. |
