Thanks Andy for the publicity. "large swathes of those I found at home had no idea who their local Councillors were". A recent £32k survey - paid for by you (i.e. LBH) proved that this is the case across the whole Borough. Chiswick Riverside actually came out near the top with 10% councillor recognition. Still pretty pathetic. We can hold as many Area Forums as YOU the residents want (budget permitting) - hence the recent separate meeting to discuss the CPZ issues. We and your MP Mary Macleod are happy to hold, and have held, street discussions to "ventilate" local issues e.g. street lights in the tree canopy and tarmac pavements. There are many other Council meetings that the public can attend but these unfortunately are held at the Civic Centre. Tonight we will be discussing/approving the LBH 2015/16 Budget and I can guarantee that there will be plenty of space in the public gallery. This meeting follows months of detailed discussions at scrutiny committee meetings all of which the public can attend. A draft version of the budget was brought to Chiswick Area Forum. The break in Area Forum activity after March is to accommodate the General Election purdah period. |
