"because they always come up as 'Unknown', and I can simply delete the call immediately."

Blocking or not answering "Unknown" or "Withheld" numbers would not work for me. My husband works at Imperial College, Hammersmith Hospital and this is what shows on the phone display whenever he phones. I think it is something to do with their switchboard system, even though his number is a direct line. I imagine this is the case for calls from many similar large organisations.
