Dear all The position could not be any clearer. LBH is imposing these wheelie bins on everyone and they have zero interest in what anyone says about it. All those who were at the Town Hall meeting last week heard Steve Curran very clearly say this. Everyone is getting a wheelie bin and that's that. He does not care about a few Chiswick whingers moaning that they are too big, or the wrong colour. He has made his mind up. So - calling the council or emailing (or moaning on here) is a TOTAL WASTE OF TIME. You can do one of two things. 1. Shut up and accept that LBH are going to impose these bins. Just accept it as another small step towards conformity and blandness, and another step away from local individuality or the character of one's local area. 2. You can simply refuse to use them. Just put them in the road (or on the pavement) and leave your bags out as usual. What can the council do? They can refuse to collect the bags but if everyone does it then at some point they will have no choice but to give in. They can prosecute a few households (and refuse to pick up their rubbish) but if EVERYONE does it, they will be forced to back down. That's your choice. Either do something or stop moaning. Nobody is listening to you and nobody is interested. LBH will not answer you. |
