It would be wrong to be too relaxed about the timescale on this based on the Octopus. That was a complicated application initiated in poor market conditions which also needed approval for effectively being a giant advertising hoarding.

Gateway Tower may be controversial but the planning decision is a relatively straightforward one - with height being the overriding issue. In this case there are indications that the scheme enjoys the support of the Council and, as with the Brentford stadium enabling development, the developer will work with planning officers to ensure that the application they submit will be recommended for approval.
