It might be helpful to point out that the Council's emerging Local Plan defines 'tall buildings' as being over 20 metres high - which is typically 5/6 storeys. A tip to residents - don't ever rely on dictionary definitions when it comes to planning, because they simply aren't applicable. The contents of this thread is very reflective of typical debates about development. Some posters have tried to be helpful, pointing out relevant considerations and the dangers of making exaggerated comments, and have been jumped upon, like myself and John, who Anita presumably doesn't know was an ex-LBH Councillor for many years and knows what he's talking about and should be listened to. Equally I've found it quite refreshing to see a large number of balanced and considered posts from local residents, which has actually demonstrated that quote from the developers used in the CW4 article is relatively accurate. |
