" Disruption will be far greater than the abandoned enlargement of storm tanks. It is absolutely unnecessary however; unlike a multi-Bn tunnel, there is no profit for TW in sustainable solutions." Too true. Even at Mogden, Thames Water has refused to cover the 6 open storm tanks which Hounslow's dim-witted Asst Director of Environment allowed to remain uncovered when granting planning permission because she 'forgot' to check with OFWAT if Thames could be forced to pay the £10 million to have them covered out of shareholder funds rather than collected fron water rate payers. Thames Water is laughing all the way to the bank! Of course under X-examination in the High Court, OFWAT said that if they had been asked they would have stated that the tanks should be coverered at Thames Water's expense. It didn't help that Hounslows Lead member for Environment was also too dim-witted to understand EPA 1990. |
