Hmmm, from the developers viewpoint I am not always convinced of the usefulness of such things.  Really there are nothing more than a PR exercise.  And it costs a considerable sum of money to hire a venue, send out invitations and make sure all the key personnel are on hand to answer any queries. 

I very much doubt it would have made any difference to the opinion of the merits of the application expressed in the majority of representations.

I do however suspect the application won't be going to SDC in mid December if revised plans are being drawn up etc.
