| David, I will accept I don't have your first-hand knowledge of the industry and these inspections but I do choose my words carefully based on what I can be sure to be true. The establisment was specifically rated at 'urgently requires improvement' for food handling and hygiene. As Julian has pointed out, if there was a reason for a specific concern about the inspection or the inspector, there is a right of appeal which was not taken up. I had a look at a sample of ratings given by Ealing Council over the last year and a zero score is relatively rare. In fact most premises are given four or five. This would suggest that Yuma Sushi wasn't a victim of being assessed by the strictest inspector. You were on the wrong end of a poor assessment at Outsider Tart in Chiswick so I can understand you have a jaundiced view of the system but it wasn't a zero rating and I don't think was a major cause for concern. This is a very different kettle of (raw) fish. |
