| Jeremy, with respect, your post does more damage than good. Fact is you haven't a clue about what went on. None of us do. You also haven't a clue how the system works. I know you think you do. I know you think it is standard. It is anything but. It actually is luck of the draw in terms of which inspector arrives. Their experience, their remit, their mood that day, their knowledge, etc. They may point out something that for years has been fine. That is fine. But in their opinion it is not. Case in point: For years we've been trading at the Kings Cross Market. Stayed open during COVID as allowed and directed by regulations at the time. Oddly, they weren't that different from how we operated prior. About this time last year, just as the new budget was about to impact trade, Camden came along and insisted things change to a protocol more strict than the one in place during a global pandemic. No laws changed. Just the personnel. We do another market also in Camden, just behind the new Google building. The protocol is not in place there. Yet all being done as directed. Just differently. In the same council. Hospitality is struggling enough. To twist the knife, as you just did, was unnecessary. |
