| Once the CS9/CW9 has been built and is in use I wonder how many accidents / deaths it will take before people realise that a two way cycle lane through Chiswick was a bad idea? I am frankly not surprised that the 5,000 people opposing the scheme were not listened to, after all Hounslow DID NOT set up independent risk assessments and have based their entire findings on single way cycle lanes. I have stated before that in my view any serious commuter cyclist will continue to use the High Road - I hate to think what would happen if cyclists travelling at speed were to collide / hit a pedestrian / hit a child on the cycle lane. I am all for safer cycling but the CS9/CW9 is an ill conceived attempt to earn Hounslow some eco credentials. |
