"unless significant modal shift occurs" Well this is something you can influence Cllr Hearn. You and some other Cllrs encouraged drivers to switch off their engines when idling (unfortunately Cllrs Barr and Biddolph drove to tell drivers to do this). You can also encourage drivers to use non-polluting modes when visiting CHR after CW9 is built. "over 5,000 individuals (mainly local residenst) " Except of course those from Hampstead that Cllr Biddolph encouraged to sign, as well as anti-cycling campaigners from Enfield, Kensington and Chelsea... The petition was gained under false pretences. The claims on the petition were rebutted by the briefing package presented to cabinet. Given people have signed the petition based upon myths and misleading information, why should this be listened to? Still look on the bright side, the Cllrs will get their Saturday mornings back and can so something more productive and enjoyable than standing in front of M&S. |
