| I regularly use New Chiswick Pool and Isleworth Pools and I think they are, generally, fantastic facilities. I am only talking about the pools here as I don't attend any classes or use the gym. There have been some annoyances with NCP for example when the taps in the women's toilets didn't work for (I am not exaggerating) around three months - made me very cross although in all honestly I don't notice many people washing hands there in any case, probably thinking that they are about to have a shower or go in the pool (charming). The issue with the toilets off poolside in Isleworth is that there is very often no toilet paper in the toilets - I have been known to go along the row of 7 toilets and find that only one or two have toilet paper and/or the rolls are put on the sanitary waste disposal units just ready to drop onto the floor or into the toilet - totally useless and a total waste. Back to the good things - since the re-tiling of the pools at Isleworth and NCP I think they are great and there are many good aquafit classes on offer. Re Brentford Fountain Leisure Centre where I have taken to going to occasionally also, the leisure pool isn't too bad at all, fine in fact - I can't answer for the fitness pool as I haven't been in it. Granted BFLC's changing rooms need refurbishment and are in something of a dungeon but I believe that the whole centre is probably being allowed to deteriorate further, hopefully to be rebuilt somewhere else. I do find that one doesn't get any response to Complaints/Suggestions cards/emails even though an automatic response comes through saying that you will hear back within 7? days. Otherwise, I think the Hounslow leisure centres, the ones I frequent in any case, are generally well run and fantastic value for money - no end of classes in pool and out and use of gym for far less than you would pay at a private establishment (particularly if you are an old dear). |
