| I feel the same, Andy. I am just waiting to see what happens with the proposal to put thousands more jets over North Chiswick and the third runway (both horrendous but separate) and if it goes ahead I will move, not being able to sleep would destroy our quality of life. But where to go? Last week alone we had a brilliant visit to the Magic Circle up near Euston - just amazing - went to a fantastic performance of The Merry Widow at the Coliseum and also to a beautiful private house just off Regent Street for a Bach concert and dinner there afterwards, all for less than £100 in total for the three events because of groups I and my friends belong to. In a couple of weeks is the Chiswick Choir Brahms German Requiem Concert that I have been rehearsing for. I would really miss my London social life, and have been tracking properties that I could afford within an hour's commute with half to an acre of land for the dogs and they are simply amazing, one with a stream through the garden and another with a lake, all big and beautiful with lovely oeld beams, just my style and enough money over not to have to work - or very much. Tempted to move right now but an concerned about how commute might affect work and social life. But then, if the additional planes go ahead, property prices around here will drop substantially so may not be able to afford what I can now. I guess it's a nice dilemma to have, but still a dilemma. |
