| Well, when you have several car owners per house or even one owner with several cars and you look at the number of houses in the street and the size of the frontage of a house - the maths just does not work. I sometimes wonder if people ever think or think past their own presumed personal convenience. For some people a car is much more important for their mobility than others. Some people just like to own a car because that how it was. The cachet of owning of car is no longer there or the same now as just about anyone can do it and for many it is just not worth the worry, the bureaucratic aggravation and the cost. It is not surprising that LA's look at car permits as a method of raising funds since their funds have been so heavily cut by central government and trying to manage the number of cars on the road. |
