Malcolm I agree with you that it is bizarre that the media devotes far more attention to Chris Rennard, the Pope, Cardinal O'Brien, Oscar Pistorious and small amounts of horsemeat in a few beef products than the real issues such as the very real scandals in the NHS and the BBC, the disintegration of the eurozone, high youth unemployment in Europe, the rising power of China, the ongoing war in Afghanistan, the conflicts in Africa and the Middle East, poverty, illiteracy and disease in many Third World countries and the looming energy crisis which will happen unless we start designing and building nuclear power stations soon. Chiswick resident Peter Oborne pointed out recently that so far nobody had died eating horsemeat whereas 1,200 people died unnecessarily or prematurely under the care of the Mid-Staffs NHS Trust alone between 2005-2009 - when we have a Labour Government that never tired of reminding us that "The NHS is safe in our hands". If that is the case, Labour needed to wash their hands more often. The man in charge of the Mid-Staffs NHS for part of the time when this scandal occurred was Sir David Nicholson who is now the Chief Executive of the whole NHS. Sir David Nicholson was a member of the British Communist Party until 1983 which meant he supported the Soviet invasions of Hungary in 1956 and Czechoslavkia in 1968, and the whole corrupt, dictatoral and inhumane Communist system. With people like him running it, it is no wonder the NHS got into such a mess under Labour and needs to be reformed now. |
