Personally I don't mind missing pet posters but do think that after a certain time the pet owner should make a point of removing them.   Left in situ for weeks they can become unsightly and be considered litter.

There's been yellow & black police tape wrapped round two or three trees at the end of Hartington Road for months after an accident at the A316 lights.   LBH have not seen fit to tidy that mess away, I'm in my car waiting at the lights when I see it.   I don't suppose pedestrians passing by have scissors about their person either, so there this unsightly tape sits.  Several chestnut trees along there have notices fluttering on them too.
