Richard, A very reasonable estimate compared to the noise forecasts from the 2007 third-runway consultation. Here's the 54dB LEQ contour for the worst 2030 case, mixed mode on the shorter third runway, landings on the north and departures on the south current runways: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/542/54db2030vs2002.jpg/ It's laid over the 2002 54dB contour for comparison. Looks like as a rule of thumb the level of plane noise now heard south of a straight line from Hogarth Roundabout to Kew Bridge would be experienced from planes from the third runway south of a line from Arts Ed to the Bollo Lane level crossings. |
