With respect Michael, 1 and 2 are reports of the same attack. I also suspect there's a 'man bites dog' situation here where every attack by a fox on a human is widely reported. So two attacks on children by foxes in a country of 60 million people where foxes are endemic is hardly a major trend.

I can understand farmers killing them, because they can be a pest. But as wild animals they are actually quite timid and won't approach human beings. They aren't big creatures and their natural prey species are smaller than them. The most nuisance I've ever had from them is going through the bins, stealing cat food and making their mess in the house.
