We have loads of foxes around us and the urban fox is no longer nocturnal and they do attack cats and dogs and given the chance probably people.  I saw a fox kill one of neighbourhood cats the other night and certainly last summer they came in our house several times.  I would suggest you employ one of the registered people that destroy them and then make sure that you destroy their den before the next family move in.
