Thought should put this in the pot. Anyone who has got on either the E3 or 190 bus knows how horrible that journey can be at the end of the school day. Two weeks ago was no exception, and I had to endure the journey to Hammersmith with two children under 6 listening to every swear word imaginable shouted across the bus, plus the children decided a game of "it" would be a good idea and so were throwing themselves across the bus to avoid getting caught. However, there were 3 older boys who got on the bus. They were just chatting by the door. They could see I was feeling uneasy to say the least and so made some attenpt to ask the others to calm down and even asked me if I was ok & said sorry for the others behaviour. I was really impressed that they tried to help, I did go into the school to try to identify the 3 but unfortunately couldn't pick them out. I don't have an answer to the bus situation so don't feel I can moan, however if anyone else has any suggestions it would be appreciated as my childrens vocabulary is going to increase in all the wrong ways !! Please don't suggest confronting the children concerned, I have witnessed first hand the result of that, the person was verbally abused the entire journey, not something I want my children to listen to. |
