As my grandmother used to say - see with your eyes and not your ears, though it's all very difficult in this day and age when we can see things happen right in front of us but can we actually believe it all? Everything is suspect because unless you actually experience it,is what you see and then are told, unless by someone who survived the experience, actually what happened? Though this was the same grandmother who when saw the moon landing in the 1960s wittered on about it being in a film studio and was to fool the Russians. She reckoned it wasn't real even though my father worked for some agency what brought back the satalite pictures. In latter life I wonder if her gut reaction was seeing through all the smoke-screen that may have been put out by the cold war years or that she was just being paranoid because she'd experienced two world wars? Who's to know? It's good to question what we see happen about us. Maybe some people get the wrong end of the stick but at least it shows their brains are working and not absorbing all the crap that can be thrown at it though government, relligion, etc. |
