Yikes... Right wing think tanks. Disaster capitalism. Not so far from Neocon New American Way that had come up some time ago in the media...gulp. I see what you mean... didn't know about the Katrina aftermath. Using the incidents to the gvnt's/private corps benefit. Like post 9-11 signing oil pipes in Afghanistan to USA, contracts in Iraq, etc, right, or erosion of privacy in the home countries? Hm. I'll have a look at the website. I do think it's OK for people to think whatever they want to, freedom of thought and speech etc, and question the government. I know this kind of undermines the gov, but like most inquiries, the 911 one hasn't satisfied a lot of people and they want another one. Not sure they'll get that. But I think it's more harmful to a country for the gvnt to accuse them of being unpatriotic if they question the gvnt or the president or PM. You 'can't' scare a country into submission to government...well not in a supposed democracy. Not sure if Blair has done the same, but I understand Bush/Cheney have exempted themselves from war crimes. |
