Well, as some of you know we sold our shop in the TG terrace which cost us 35,000 pounds ayear in rent etc to run.I love hard but well...this was the limit!Say no more.WE planned to sell our home...seriously April 2008, exchanged in Aug...complex, emotional...but without an agent!Completed on the 13th Nov and sailed off on the Britany Ferry that same night....prior to organising everything including the purchase of a handsome 330 sq metre house, pigionier, barn and a few acres[rented in the village whilst completion was in progress]I exchanged all this for a one bed flat on a main road in London! Now I am setting up to receive guests for fine dining and cookery adventures.I will also be working with a new and forward thinking estate agency selling houses in the beautiful villages of our area.None of this without tears because I miss many of my friends...however now they are all booking flights and getting in their cars and flocking over. This may sound rude but I know that my plans have paid off.The people are kind and friendly...how refreshing. The properties here are variable in style and price and our area, apparently is the highest price riser in France. We have lakes, rivers, sea...airport within 30 mins...Bordeaux less than 1 hour...Spain less than 3 hours away. Not trying to make you jelous...just saying that there are alternative life styles....I do not plan to move back! |
