""It is depressing to think that the height of that plane was over 2000 feet, as the noise was horrendous.  I feel for the people even nearer the airport.  If that were to happen every 90 seconds, starting at 5 am, over North Chiswick/Bedford Park/Acton (where I have been for 26 years, and where the kids grew up), for me there would be no alternative but to move.""

Jane,
You may now realise why some of us living in Brentford, Isleworth and Osterley regularly post messages on the local Forums about the noise created by aircraft..and why we are against EXPANSION.

Those flights to which you refer start every day at 4.32am!!
and there's at least 5 of them before 5am.  The disturbing noise lasts for 40 seconds each.

If only the 4.30am till 6am arrivals were banned that would cancel out 5800 disturbances a year. (That works out at over 60 hours of noise before 6am each year!)

I would agree that the aircraft are less noisy than say 30 years ago..but the night flight activity is not compatible with Heathrow being a considerate neighbour.
