You might find this 'Side-by-side maps' web site interesting.. https://maps.nls.uk/geo/explore/side-by-side/ ..where you can select a modern map of your choice on one side and compare it with an old map on the other.  The 1900 25" OS map clearly shows the fish ponds up by Acton Town station which were the source of the Bollo Brook.  There are also lots of websites about 'The Lost Rivers of London', including this by my favourite London blogger: https://diamondgeezer.blogspot.com/2010/09/stamford-brook-i.html
